Porto Montenegro implements innovative new reception strategies amid Coronavirus pandemic

By Katia Damborsky   25 March 2020

Amid the growing restrictions designed to limit the spread of Covid-19, Porto Montenegro has introduced a new solution to keep their visitors safe.

Those looking to charter a yacht in Montenegro can now enjoy new safety measures at Porto Montenegro, the country’s leading luxury port.

The marina will now offer a virtual reception service that complies with social distancing measures designed to tackle the spread of the new coronavirus.

Porto Montenegro has said the solution will allow “clients to have face-to-face communication with [the] team but from a safe distance.”

The marina and its facilities are still open to yacht-goers looking for an Adriatic escape.

“Porto Montenegro has applied all security and safety measures as recommended by the Government of Montenegro,” explains Danilo Kalezic, Senior PR & Marketing Manager at Porto Montenegro.  “We have limited direct people to people contact whilst maintaining all of our marina services to our clients."

Essentially, we understand these are difficult times for all of us and we are doing all in our power to ensure absolute peace of mind of all marina residents when it comes to their safety and security.

The new virtual reception service is currently being implemented at the marina, and the situation is being closely monitored to ensure the safety of all clients and staff.

“As a company, we are always trying to stay ahead of the curve.” Continues Kalezic. “Essentially, we understand these are difficult times for all of us and we are doing all in our power to ensure absolute peace of mind of all marina residents when it comes to their safety and security.

“The health of our employees, customers, partners and community are our priority. We’re doing our best going forward."

Montenegro was the last country in Europe to contract the virus, and since then the country has maintained a relatively low case rate thanks to early containment measures including school closures and the suspension of public transport.

Providing travel limitations are eased, the destination is set to be a popular yacht charter hotspot in the height of summer.

Porto Montenegro has ensured that the largest motor yachts in the world can be accommodated in the marina, with 450 berths for yachts ranging between 12 - 250 metres. The marina village adds to the appeal, with luxury fashion emporiums and upscale restaurants that are worth stepping on shore for.

At sea, countless islands and secret beaches make Montenegro great for exploring by boat. Those chartering in the region should be sure to cruise around Our Lady of the Rocks and Sveti Stefan peninsula.
