Largest Oceanco Ever Built: 111m Hybrid Superyacht LEVIATHAN Launched Ahead of Sea Trials

By Anna Ingles   13 August 2025

The largest yacht ever built by Oceanco, in terms of gross tonnage, 364ft (111m) hybrid superyacht LEVIATHAN hit the water at the Dutch shipyard ahead of her forthcoming sea trials. Representing a bold evolution in yacht design, she has been conceived from the outset to prioritise people, from her guests to the crew who operate her, marking a new chapter in purposeful, human-centric yachting.

Commissioned by an experienced owner, rumored to be co-founder of Valve, Gabe Newell, who also happens to be the reported new owner of Oceanco, superyacht LEVIATHAN blends scale, performance, and innovation with an operational philosophy that redefines how life at sea can be experienced.

From the earliest stages of development, crew members contributed directly to the design process, ensuring that every detail, from materials to onboard systems, supports efficiency, comfort, and the ability to deliver world-class experiences.

A Purpose-Built Platform for Exploration

LEVIATHAN has been conceived as a superyacht that offers more than indulgent cruising; she's designed to enable experiences with depth and meaning. Alongside her resort-style amenities, she incorporates spaces that can transform into hubs for discovery, whether that’s hosting a team of marine biologists, supporting oceanographic surveys, or facilitating environmental filmmaking.

Though it's currently unknown whether she will join the fleet of Oceanco yachts for charter, those onboard can have the chance to be part of hands-on adventures, from witnessing marine research in action to exploring remote waters rarely seen by leisure yachts.

She is not just a high-performance vessel. She is a working ecosystem, designed to support everything from world-class hospitality to scientific research. That is what happens when you put people and purpose at the center.

Oceanco’s Largest Build Yet

At 111 meters, luxury yacht LEVIATHAN stands as the largest yacht ever launched by Oceanco in terms of gross tonnage, marking a significant milestone for the Dutch shipyard. With an approximated GT of 4,999, she will sit mid-table in the YachtBuyer YB100 listing of the world's biggest yachts.

This new motor yacht joins an elite roster of Oceanco-built giants, such as the award-winning 361ft (110m) superyacht KAOS and the striking 384ft (117m) luxury yacht INFINITY, yet surpasses them in sheer volume and scope. Her scale allows for a wealth of premium lifestyle amenities, generous deck spaces, and a layout designed for both privacy and social connection, making her a standout option for a grand yet purposeful voyage.

Design Echoes on the Charter Scene

While she is unmistakably unique, luxury yacht LEVIATHAN shares design DNA with other distinguished motor yachts for charter. Her sharp, contemporary profile and extensive use of glass evoke comparisons with yachts like 295.3ft (89.99m) superyacht charter LUNA, known for blending bold aesthetics with innovative engineering.

Inside, her Mark Berryman-designed interiors are expected to deliver the same calm, tactile elegance found on some of the most sought-after yachts in the global charter fleet, with spaces that invite guests to unwind, entertain, and savour life at sea in absolute style.
