New superyacht marina to open in Italy this November

By Katia Damborsky   5 October 2018

A new marina for luxury yachts will open in Genoa, Italy, next month as part of Amico & Co’s plans to expand their facilities and create a ‘superyacht hub’.

The new area, covering roughly 640,000 square feet or 60,000 square meters, will accommodate superyachts of up to 110 metres and include new quays, parking and crew areas, as well as contractor services.

The marina is part of wider plans to upgrade and expand the yard to make it ‘a superyacht hub’ by 2019.

A new ship lift capable of hoisting yachts measuring up to 95 metres is also in build, which will be fitted with the latest technologies to transfer yachts onto dry land. Once on shore, the superyachts can be moved around without interfering with other yachts at berth.

The developments have been underway since 2015, and the yard hopes that their expansion will make Amico & Co the go-to destination for superyachts of up to 150 metres. Work is also in process to improve direct transport links between the marina and the heart of Genoa.
