Charter Yachts Win Big At The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta

By Oliver Pearson   13 March 2017

Wowing crowds in the British Virgin Islands this weekend, three sailing yachts which are available for charter took home gold in races at the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta 2017.

Now in its seventh year, the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta brings together a collection of the world’s finest sailing yachts to compete in similarly fine waters.

Though exotic, the courses marked out around Virgin Gorda are prone to challenging winds and tidal currents, ensuring that all of the action is fast-paced and certain to keep crowds on the edge of their seats.

Generating even more excitement this year, however, was the fact that three of this year’s winners are available for private yacht charter vacations.

P2

Battling it out with the equally impressive sailing yacht GANESHA, the 38m/125ft sailing yacht P2 took gold in Class B on Saturday.

Delivered from the iconic Perini Navi shipyard in 2008, the sailing yacht gets her distinctive exterior style from Philippe Briand, combining outstanding looks and power with such grace that she collected an assortment of awards after she hit the water.

With a total of 3 well-appointed staterooms to choose from, S/Y P2 is capable of accommodating up to 6 guests whilst away on a private yacht charter.

Showcasing charter yachts at the top of their game, the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta is unmissable for any sailing yacht enthusiast

GANESHA

After losing out to P2 by a mere 22 seconds on Saturday, the 46m/151ft sailing yacht GANESHA secured victory in Class B on Sunday afternoon.

Such a worthy performance should come as no surprise to those in the know- the sailing yacht was awarded the title of ‘Best Sailing Yacht Over 40m’ by the World Superyacht Awards following her delivery from Vitters in 2013.

Enhanced by her sophisticated Panamax Rig, GANESHA combines her remarkable performance modern interior, with bright furnishings and fixtures populating both her communal and guest spaces.

As well as a generous master cabin, S/Y GANESHA features 3 double staterooms to provide accommodation for up to 8 guests whilst being used as part of a vacation.

PERSEUS^3

Another example of the outstanding work carried out by Perini Navi, the 60m/197ft sailing yacht PERSEUS^3 pulled off consecutive wins on Sunday.

Setting a tough standard to beat in Class D, the sailing yacht owes much of her finesse to the 76m carbon fibre mast which supports her main sail.

When she isn’t winning regattas, PERSEUS^3 is available to charter in the Caribbean during the winter, and the Mediterranean in summer.

With berths for up to 12 guests, the yacht also features a variety of features for parties to enjoy around both the exterior and interior.
