Demand is back to what it was in 2009, making the charter market stronger than it has been for the past three years.
Despite less charter yachts being sent to The Caribbean this year, the demand for Christmas charters was high, especially on smaller yachts.
The market is constantly changing and adapting and 2013 will be no different with the introduction of VAT. More and more pressure is being applied in France to lift the VAT tax exemption for yacht charters, meaning change is definitely afoot.
Last year Italy introduced VAT on charters and sooner or later France will have to follow.
