Video: Lack of wind in Porto Cervo postpones the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2018

With the forecasted breeze failing to make itself felt in Porto Cervo yesterday, sailors at this year’s Loro Piana Regatta will be hoping that positive predictions for the next three days turn out to be true.

Despite initial forecasts that a light wind would allow competitors to embark on the Race Course 5 yesterday, the first stage of the Loro Piana Regatta 2018 in Sardinia has unfortunately been postponed until today.

Speaking to reporters yesterday afternoon, Peter Craig, the Principal Race Officer of the event voiced his disappointment, but remained optimistic that conditions would allow for the next few days to be full of action.

Of course, with so much on offer around the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the resort of Porto Cervo, both sailors and audience will have had plenty to enjoy in the downtime.
