By Rebecca Bradbury   1 December 2015

The finalists for the 2016 ShowBoat Design Awards have been announced and the shortlisted categories see a number of luxury charter yachts in the running to take home a coveted Neptune trophy.

Now in their seventh year, the ShowBoats Design Awards honour the best in superyacht design over the past year, and are judged by an independent panel of yacht owners, senior yacht crew and acclaimed naval architects, designers and stylists. The winners are set to be announced in a glitzy ceremony at the Superyacht Design Symposium, taking place on 22nd February in Kitzbühel, Austria.

A notable collection of superyachts from the global charter fleet have been nominated in a variety of categories, ranging from exterior and interior styling to naval architecture design.

Leading the way for charter yachts is the 95m/312ft superyacht KISMET from the renowned Lürssen shipyard who has been shortlisted in three categories, recognising her exterior, interior and holistic design.

Feadship charter yachts are also big contenders with the 102m/333ft motor yacht SYMPHONY shortlisted for the Exterior Design and Styling Award, as well as the Interior Design Award alongside the world’s first hybrid superyacht, the 84m/274ft charter yacht SAVANNAH.

Meanwhile, the 69m/227ft superyacht SUERTE from the Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts is the only charter yacht to feature in the Naval Architecture Award for Displacement Motor Yachts.

The 72m/236ft motor yacht ‘O’Pari 3’ completes the line-up of charter yachts nominated in the exterior design category while the 82m/268ft charter yacht RoMEA has also made it through to the Interior Design Award Shortlist.
