A brand new marina is due to be completed in March in the increasingly popular and ever-beautiful charter yacht destination of Tahiti.
The marina is being built in downtown Papeete, the largest island in French Polynesia, as a supplement to Marina Taina. This existing marina can accommodate 550 yachts to include 20 superyacht berths for vessels up to 60m/197ft, however there has been growing demand from superyacht Owners and charterers choosing Tahiti as an alternative summer destination.
The new marina will include an impressive 200m/656ft berth along with state-of-the-art facilities such as free WiFi. The development is part of an ongoing effort by the Port Authority and Tahiti Tourism to attract superyachts which in recent months has included the import taxes levied on long-term visiting yachts and/or vessels registered in the region to 8%.
