Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous 2017 Gets Underway

By Rebecca Bradbury   8 December 2017

The 2017 Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous (KRSR) opens its doors today, bringing together superyachts, owners and the Asian glitterati for three days of bespoke activities and glamorous parties in the beautiful cruising grounds of Phuket, Thailand.

An exclusive, invitation-only event, KRSR is now in its second year and, following on from the success of its inaugural edition, is set to bring back some of the most iconic superyacht brands to Phuket, the leading superyacht hotspot in South East Asia.

The rendezvous opened this morning with the King’s Cup Superyacht Experience. Owners, media and guests were invited aboard the yachts in show to watch the thrilling King’s Cup Regatta unfold. Wine tasting, a cocktail party and an opening reception will then round up the day.

Day two will see a cruise to a private beach for a delicious barbecue followed by a cocktail party, this time aboard the 68m/223ft superyacht ‘Lady Christine’, as well as two invitation-only dinners hosted by Feadship and Benetti respectively.

An action-packed third day rounds off the rendezvous. From a Royal Huisman brunch, water toy demonstrations and a sunset cruise to a yacht hop, vodka tasting and charter season opening party, there will be plenty to keep guests entertained from morning to night.

Signalling the opening of Phuket’s luxurious charter season, KRSR offers superyacht owners a prime-time opportunity to showcase their flagship vessels.
