Expedition yacht charter LA DATCHA is preparing to trade the tropical waters of French Polynesia for Antarctica, where she will offer yacht charters during the winter 2026 season.
Equipped for extended voyages into remote regions, the 252.7ft (77m) Damen Yachting explorer charter yacht combines an ice-classed hull with specialist expedition equipment and onboard facilities designed to keep guests comfortable in challenging environments.
Currently enjoying the South Pacific, LA DATCHA will bring a very different kind of charter experience to Antarctica, where guests can explore dramatic polar scenery and encounter wildlife far from more conventional cruising grounds.
Built in 2020 and refitted in 2025, LA DATCHA was designed to travel beyond established cruising routes. Her steel hull is ice-classed, and the yacht complies with the IMO Polar Code, supporting operations in polar waters.
With a reported range of 6,000 nautical miles and provisions for up to 40 days at sea without a port call, she is more than equipped for extended luxury yacht charters in remote areas.
Two commercially registered helicopters expand the possibilities for exploration beyond the coastline, while a three-person submersible allows guests to experience the underwater environment. Expedition tenders and RIBs provide access to shore and areas the mothership cannot approach, while snow scooters offer another way to explore in suitable conditions.
Spending the past two years embracing an incredible world tour, from destinations like Mexico and Australia to the Seychelles and Norway, LA DATCHA has covered serious ground since her launch, and with Antarctica now on the horizon, she has a new experience to offer charter guests who may have secured previous bookings with her.

Her fully equipped scuba center, submersible, and collection of tenders support exploration beneath and above the water, while the yacht's two helicopters provide additional access to remote areas. Four WaveRunners, SEABOBs, kayaks and paddleboards offer further options where conditions allow.
After a day outdoors, guests can return to a selection of wellness facilities, including a sauna, steam room, massage room and gym. The principal owner's suite has its own observation lounge and private deck area, while the other guest cabins include en-suite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes.
A crew of 25 supports life onboard, helping coordinate excursions and maintain the service expected on a luxury yacht charter.
