First Look: Luxury yacht charter AQUA LARES unveils new interiors by Hot Lab following latest refit

Charter yacht AQUA LARES has unveiled new imagery showcasing her refreshed interiors, developed by Italian design studio Hot Lab in collaboration with Aqua Expeditions Design Director Birgit Galli Zugaro.

The latest refit takes a considered approach to updating the 253.11ft (77.4m) explorer yacht, bringing greater consistency to her interior spaces while retaining the character of a vessel that has spent five decades in service.

Originally built by the Dutch shipyard IHC Verschure in 1974. the latest interior work builds on a history of conversion and refits that have worked to balance updated materials and detailing with a design approach intended to make the yacht feel more cohesive and comfortable for contemporary charter guests.

Hot Lab and Birgit Galli Zugaro rework the interiors

The latest interior refit was developed by Hot Lab in collaboration with Birgit Galli Zugaro, Aqua Expeditions' Design Director.

Rather than imposing an entirely new aesthetic like many interior refits of modern charter yachts, the design team sought to reconnect areas that had been altered during previous conversions, creating a harmonious flow throughout the yacht.

The interior update recognizes AQUA LARES' history as an expedition yacht while addressing how guests use her interior spaces on luxury yacht charters today.

Updated materials and detailing introduce a renewed sense of comfort without erasing the undeniable character accumulated over the vessel's long service life. The result is a design direction that places continuity alongside change, rather than treating the refit as a complete departure from the yacht's past.

Warm and neutral tones

Natural materials and a neutral color palette, with rich hues threaded through, form the basis of the refreshed interiors, with innovative lighting to help establish a homely atmosphere throughout.

The new imagery of the completed refit highlights a closer look at the yacht's dining and lounge areas, showing how the updated design connects spaces used for socializing throughout the day, offering unique views and environments to relax in while cruising between charter destinations.

Rather than relying on a single defining feature, the refit focuses on the interior as a whole, bringing together every element and presenting a host of thoughtfully placed finishing touches.

Overnight accommodation that welcomes extended stays

Also benefiting from the recently completed refit, the guest accommodation continues the same indulgent appeal, with a range of soft textures, premium quality fabrics, and a color scheme that creates an inviting ambiance to relax after a busy day exploring.

With capacity for up to 30 guests on a single cabin or private charter and a crew of 32, expedition yacht charter AQUA LARES can cater to larger family groups and social charters while maintaining a substantial service team on board.
