With effect from 7 April 2022, Fiji officials have announced a relaxation to their current entry requirements, allowing for greater ease of travel by superyachts who wish to cruise this tropical archipelago in the South Pacific.
Due to the nation’s heavy reliance on tourism, these changes will herald a much-needed boost to an economy that has been struggling despite the success of its Blue Lanes Initiative brought in at the start of the pandemic.
Latest protocols on entry are as follows;
- All visitors, whether by air or sea, must complete a RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) before departure
- Another test must be conducted between 48-72 hours after arrival*
*At present regulations stipulate that a local clinician must administer the tests, however it is hoped that in the near future one member of the crew will be able to be certified to conduct these tests directly to all parties on board.
In addition, confirmation of vaccination status of the entire yacht party must be submitted, along with yacht insurance that includes a comprehensive COVID-19 addendum.
