Feadship 88m superyacht ‘Project 816’ breaks cover

By Editorial Team   21 December 2020

Yacht spotters were able to catch a glimpse of Feadship’s 88.38m (290ft) superyacht 'Project 816' this weekend as she left its Amsterdam construction hall for sea trials.

Sporting an elegant exterior design by Feadship’s own Studio De Voogt and interiors by Italian-based Nauta Design and FM Architettura, Project 816 is the first full build design to emerge from its new yard in Amsterdam.

Project 816 is the first full build design to emerge from its new yard in Makkum, Amsterdam.

The motor yacht entered the new facilities in May last year, shortly before they were officially opened by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. She offers accommodation for 16 guests across eight cabins, with space for 25 crew members on board as well.

The next phase of construction will see the superyacht undertake sea trials on the North Sea before being officially named and delivered early in 2021.

The launch of Project 816 caps a busy year for the Dutch yard which has seen the delivery of three 70m plus yachts: 72.85m PODIUM, 75m charter yacht ARROW and the 100m MOONRISE, with 50m ‘Totally Nuts’ also set to be delivered soon.

Feadship also has a number of superyachts set for delivery in 2021 and revealed earlier this year it is working on its biggest undertaking yet, the 118m (387ft) Project 1010, which will take its place as the largest Dutch-built yacht upon its scheduled delivery in 2022.

It is not yet known whether Project 816 will be available for superyacht charters.
