5 Must See Charter Yachts Attending FLIBS 2016

By Oliver Pearson   1 November 2016

With the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show now only two days away, the attending superyachts are in place and undergoing their final preparations before going on display.

Now in its 57th year, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is unquestionably one of the most anticipated dates on the superyacht calendar. Regularly attracting a host of superb motor yachts, and an equally discerning crowd, the show is the perfect way to kick off the winter charter season.

This year is of course no exception to the rule, and the commanding line-up of superyachts includes names from world-leading shipyards such as Feadship, Benetti, and Lurssen. Leading the charge is no doubt the revolutionary 84m/274ft motor yacht SAVANNAH which was declared the ‘Motor Yacht of the Year’ back in May.

As industry-players touch down in Florida, we take a look at some of the most exciting charter yachts which are currently assembled in Fort Lauderdale.

1. SAVANNAH

The world’s first truly hybrid superyacht, SAVANNAH caused a sensation following her delivery from Feadship last year. Utilising the latest in electronic technologies, her pioneering ‘breath propulsion system’ ensures charterers can cut the waves whilst reducing their carbon footprint.

Combining such innovative engineering with similarly noteworthy interior design, both the communal and guest areas have been finished in a light and contemporary style. Replete with dedicated spaces, the superyacht features a fully-equipped gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a unique ‘nemo room’ from which to take in views beneath the waterline.

Bringing together the best of the best, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is entirely unmissable

2. 'Party Girl'

Making her show debut at this year’s edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the 63m/205ft luxury yacht ‘Party Girl’ from Icon Yachts is sure to generate plenty of interest as she goes on display later this week.

Finely balancing styles, her interior is infused with art deco touches whilst her exterior and beach club take their cues from more modern design. As well as a water-level gymnasium, the superyacht also includes a spa pool on the bridge deck and a spacious veranda on the main deck.

Open for private yacht charter vacations in the Caribbean following the show, M/Y Party Girl is capable of accommodating up to twelve guests across a range of eight well-appointed cabins.

3. CHASSEUR

Brand new and making her worldwide debut at this year’s show, the 49m/160ft motor yacht CHASSEUR will assuredly capture the imagination of countless charterers in attendance. Delivered from Christensen, and very much bearing the US shipyard’s award-winning pedigree, the yacht combines an array of desirable features with a wholly welcoming design.

Ending months of anticipation, those in Fort Lauderdale will be amongst the first look at the home cinema integrated into the master suite and the various alfresco dining options located on the main and upper deck.

Available in the Bahamas for her first ever winter season, M/Y CHASSEUR is capable of accommodating up to twelve guests across six cabins.

4. 'BLU 470'

The only Feadship with 2 hull numbers, the 50m/163ft motor yacht ‘BLU 470’ was completely rebuilt in 2014, acquiring a whole new personality sure to appeal to the modern charterer. Recently adopting her new name, she was previously known as superyacht BROADWATER.

A true entertainer, the superyacht features a huge swim platform from which to board her collection of tenders and toys as well as a number of partially shaded areas for those looking to cool off around her exterior.

Her interior is just as exacting, with bright furnishings and light elements creating a wholly welcoming ambience to relax in.

As well as a generously proportioned master suite, M/Y BLU 470 includes 4 double cabins to allow a total of 10 guests to enjoy her whilst away on charter.

With so many stunning superyachts on display, FLIBS 2016 is sure to go down as one of the greatest editions yet

5. MOONRAKER

Part of the Mangusta 165e series from Overmarine, the 50m/164ft motor yacht MOONRAKER benefits from expansive windows which follow the graceful arch of her superstructure. Illuminating her ultra-modern interior, such design ultimately enhances the experience of being on board this youthful superyacht.

Backing up her exceptional style with plenty of substance, the features which abound throughout MOONRAKER are sure to impress anyone stepping on board her later this week. Indeed, with both an onboard movie theatre and vast exterior space, it’s difficult to imagine a desire going unsatisfied.

With a total of 4 uniquely styled guest cabins, M/Y MOONRAKER is capable of accommodating up to 10 guests.
