Saudi Arabia Grand Prix 2021

Jeddah Corniche Circuit

3 Dec 2021

By Nina Done

The world-famous port city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host its inaugural Formula One race, marking the newest addition to the illustrious Grand Prix circuit.

Spanning three days of high-octane racing over the first weekend in December, the new Saudi Arabia Grand Prix is shaping up to be one of the most exciting races in recent history, culminating in a gripping battle between Hamilton and Verstappen in the race of their lives for the championship title which will conclude in the finale held at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix the following week.

The newly-built Jeddah Corniche Circuit, which has been created in record time, is set to be the longest – and fastest – street circuit in Formula One history, and will mark the largest sporting event the kingdom has ever held. “The circuit in Jeddah will be extraordinary,” says F1 track designer Carsten Tilke. “It will be a different kind of street track, something the world has never seen before.”

The punishing urban course covers 6.175 km – one of the longest circuits on the racing calendar – and 27 challenging turns at incredibly fast speeds around the lagoons on Jeddah’s northern coastline.

Chartering the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix

Taking place during the slightly cooler month of December, the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix presents the perfect opportunity to charter a luxury yacht for the ultimate track-side event this year.

Due to take place at night, the new circuit will be an impressive spectacle for race-goers lucky enough to secure a track-side berth. With Abu Dhabi and the Monaco Grand Prix being the only other circuits to offer these type of berths, demand can be high for the most advantageous viewpoints, so booking early is highly recommended.

Guests on board will revel in being close to the action as they enjoy a respite from the heat of the day with gentle breezes coming in off the sea in the cooler night air, where they can relax and enjoy their luxurious surroundings as the cars speed around the course in this penultimate Formula One race.

Securing a berth at this inaugural event promises to herald an incredible weekend of racing and glamorous after-show entertainment.

Historic city of Jeddah

Dating back to the 7th Century, the historic city of Jeddah is renowned for its proximity to the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage site of Mecca, where its rich culture is clear to see as you meander the narrow alleys among the glorious coral-stone merchant houses and street markets.
