The 'Yachting Capital of the World', Fort Lauderdale plays host to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) every year in October/November.
Hugely popular amongst the Captains of the industry as well as yacht buyers and prospective Florida yacht charter guests, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show frequently attracts over 100,000 visitors every year.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show presents thousands of industry exhibits alongside more than 1,300 boats covering a broad range of nautical niches including sport-fishers, cabin cruisers, bowriders, catamarans, ski boats, trawlers, extraordinary superyachts for sale, and of course luxury yacht charters.
Extending over three million square feet, the five-day exhibit is the largest in-water boat show in the world and has a fantastic transportation system of water taxis, bus shuttles, and riverboats to give guests easy access to the seven show locations.
Show locations include:
- Bahia Mar Yachting Center - home to an extensive collection of in-water displays, the Engine Tent, Electronics Tent, and the Marine Equipment Tent
- Hall of Fame Marina - an esteemed showcase of brokerage yachts
- Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina - ideal for meetings during corporate yacht charters and host to an eclectic range of accessory exhibitors
A large variety of charter yachts are also displayed, ranging from compact sportfishers to spectacular superyachts
- Las Olas Marina - an intimate showcase of smaller luxury motor yachts
- Pier 66 Marina - a premier showground for superyachts up to 400ft (121m)
- Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South - an exclusive marina home to the most indulgent yachts in attendance
- Broward County Convention Center - the place to be for the latest water toys and the popular AquaZone attraction - perfect for those wanting ideas for watersports yacht charters
Cementing the long-standing success of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the diamond anniversary edition in 2019 saw the inaugural appearance of the now-iconic Superyacht Village.
Featuring nothing but the biggest and most impressive motor yachts on the market, the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South is an attraction in its own right and continually draws VIP crowds every year.
Now a fundamental element to FLIBS, entry to the Superyacht Village is covered by general admission, and access to the showcasing superyachts is at the discretion of relative brokers, dealers, and manufacturers.
Showcasing more than 1300 yachts and boat charters from 1,000 exhibiting brands, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show delivers a truly encapsulating display of striking motor yachts, providing an abundance of inspiration for buyers and prospective USA yacht charter guests.
Representing around 52 countries, exhibitors at FLIBS have been known to choose the US event as a platform for global debuts, offering many exclusive opportunities to be among the first to view some of the most enticing and most expensive yachts for charter.
Each year, visitors can expect to view collections from some of the most well-known shipyards in the world, with many returning each edition with their latest models. Yards that have become regular exhibitors at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show include Sunseeker, Princess, Azimut, Benetti, and Absolute.
Luxury yachts that have made their debut at FLIBS include 164.1ft (50m) superyacht BOOK ENDS in 2023, and 154.2ft (47m) Sanlorenzo motor yacht ARROW.
There is no on-site box office for tickets to the show as visitors are encouraged to purchase digital tickets online which will be scanned upon entry.
General admission tickets to FLIBS provide one or multi-day access, with prices ranging from $44 to $96 depending on the selected days, excluding booking and transaction fees. Children under six enter for free with an adult, and active military personnel and veterans receive complimentary general admission on Sunday.
For an elevated VIP experience, Windward VIP tickets start at $420, including sales tax but excluding additional fees.
The Fort Lauderdale Concours, held Friday night, showcases an impressive mix of classic cars, luxury sneakers, fine and pop art, live entertainment, an open bar, and gourmet hors d'oeuvres, all set against a breathtaking backdrop. It’s a must-attend event during FLIBS. To combine attendance at the exclusive VIP Concours event on Friday evening with a Windward VIP ticket, the price is $560.
In addition to the esteemed collection of boats and motor yacht charters, FLIBS keeps all visitors entertained with live music, exclusive seminars, activities for younger visitors, and over 100 food concessions around the docks.
For those visiting the Superyacht Village, the Sunset Soiree & Yacht Chef Competition is a popular event with some of the finest yacht chefs battling it out to earn the coveted title of Best Yacht Chef.
