12 - 23 May 2020
The French Riviera’s most glamorous event will be bringing another cascade of A-listers and superyachts to the South of France for the 2020 Cannes Film Festival in May.
Unforgettably iconic, the 73rd edition of the Cannes Film Festival will be making a return to the French seaside town in May 2020, for 12 days of film premiers, social functions and red carpet glamour.
Alongside the Hollywood elite, there will be plenty of yacht-goers undertaking Cannes Film Festival yacht charters. Luxury charter yachts berthed along Cannes’ Vieux Port are a staple at the event, and provide a lucky few with the most enviable setting and convenient location right in the thick of the A-list action.
What’s in store for 2020:
Last year’s Cannes Film Festival honoured plenty of acclaimed films, directors and actors, and the prestigious Palme d’Or was awarded to South Korean dark comedy Gisaengchung, or Parasite.
The jury was headed up by director Alejandro González Iñárritu, the first Mexican man to serve as the panel president in the history of the Film Festival.

After the day’s screenings and awards ceremonies were wrapped up, the South of France became a party hub, with soirees in Antibes and yacht parties on board several superyachts out at anchor in the Mediterranean.
Supermodels Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid were among the attendees, while famous faces including Margot Robbie, Eva Longoria and Helen Mirren dazzled on the red carpet. A surprise performance from Elton John wowed at the Rocketman premiere, and Brad Pritt and Leonard DiCaprio were voted among the best-dressed men in Cannes.
As the Mediterranean yacht charter season begins to warm up, the Cannes Film Festival is the first major event on the calendar. It overlaps with the Monaco Grand Prix, thus turning this slice of the French Riviera into a superyacht hotspot.
