Cannes Film Festival 2018

Cannes, France

8 - 19 May 2018

By Rebecca Bradbury

Hollywood A-listers and superyachts alike will descend on the French port town of Cannes for two weeks this May for the 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

As well as celebrating the latest releases and most sought-after names in cinema, the Cannes Film Festival will, as always, attract a huge fleet of superyachts to the Old Port of Cannes.

The world’s most influential film festival, the fortnight-long event is a key date on the French Riviera’s yachting calendar. Lined up along the Jetee Edouard Albert, the superyachts add to the glitz and glamour of the surrounds and are thought by many to be the true stars of the show.

In 2018, for the very first time, the festival will begin on Tuesday with a weekday gala dinner, while the announcement of the competition winners, judged by a jury led by Cate Blanchett, will take place on a Saturday, the final day of the industry meet.

Expect plenty of red carpet action, celebrity-spotting and film premieres, as well as superyacht parties. This is the perfect setting to impress your clients, contacts and friends by renting a superyacht and inviting them aboard for a glittering event charter.

The hub of the festival – the Palais des Festivals – is just a few steps from the port, meaning those berthed there for a corporate charter will be in close proximity to all the happenings.
