VIP like a boss: Most expensive clubs in the Mediterranean

By Nina Done   10 July 2023

The Mediterranean offers an unrivaled playground of extravagant experiences. From Saint Tropez to Mykonos, this vibrant expanse of azure horizons beckons those with a taste for the finer things in life at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs.

From glamorous nightlife venues that pulsate with energy to serene beach clubs that invite relaxation, we'll uncover the hidden gems and iconic establishments that have become synonymous with exclusivity.

Sublimotion, Ibiza

Offering an interactive Willy Wonka-style dining concept, described by founder and Head chef Paco Roncero as a gastro-sensory experience, Sublimotion is no ordinary restaurant. Using a raft of technology; from virtual reality to immersive film projections, the intimate dining experience is simply out of this world. And with a price tag to match.

Seating only 12 diners at a time, a place at this exclusive table is yours for a mere €1,500 per person. Patrons will get to experience a culinary art experience like no other, taking place in a groundbreaking interactive space, or “capsule”, encompassing a high-tech food tasting banquet spread over three hours.

Opened in 2014, dining at Sublimotion is a mind-blowing extravaganza set against a series of surreal, futuristic and often thought provoking backdrops; from deep underwater worlds to futuristic space and beyond. Showcasing the world-renowned two-michelin star chef’s innovative and avant garde cuisine, diners will be immersed in a sensory world where the look, feel and even the humidity are adjusted to pair with each dish you are eating.

Nikki Beach, St Tropez

The place for international celebrities and A-listers to hang out, Nikki Beach has become an iconic institution since its debut in 2002. Perched on golden sands at the world-famous Pampelonne beach, a star-studded roster of DJs, shaded white cabanas and a swimming pool that doubles as a catwalk all add to the chic, sun-kissed allure.

St Tropez Nikki Beach

Offering exclusive party vibes against the ultra-glamorous backdrop of Saint Tropez, Champagne-filled halcyon days are guaranteed. An oversized plush daybed in a prime spot could set you back up to €3,000, with a raft of enticing menu options to keep you and your guests happy.

Pairing beautifully with the finest Champagne, dine out on Niki Beach’s hugely popular, €500 “sushi boat” – Bono has been known to moor his yacht for one – or stick to a healthy “sexy salad”, encompassing a luxurious mix of lobster, avocado and superfoods guaranteed to make you feel special.

Claiming to be the first and original luxury beach club concept, this stylish hangout is thronged with beautiful patrons that bask in the celebrity-studded atmosphere that promises a feast of music, dining, entertainment, fashion, film and art all summer long.

Hï Ibiza, Balearics

“Welcome to the future of clubbing” – a bold statement, yet one that seems perfectly apt for the most technologically advanced club on the planet.

Open since 2017, the nightclub has been lauded with the accolade World's Number 1 Club several times over, and features an impressive line-up of internationally acclaimed DJs, who preside like kings over their decks while cutting-edge graphics light up the “sky” as hundreds of revelers hold up smartphones trying to capture the magic.

For those who wish to enjoy the ultimate VIP experience in this prestigious club, tables don't come cheap. Attracting star DJs and a raft of A-lister celebrities, expect to pay up to a whopping €50,000 for a top table of 24 guests.

Priding themselves on tailoring each DJ residency with a bespoke look and feel, no two nights are the same. There are a variety of spaces to experience the state-of-the-art design and pioneering sound technology, notably in the Theatre – inspired by classic Italian amphitheater design, with a raised terrace hosting the all-important exclusive VIP area. Additional rooms include the Clubroom and Wild Corner, with alfresco terraces on hand for patrons to relax and chill out.

Nammos, Mykonos

The first ever Nammos appeared on Mykonos’ beautiful Psarou beach, and began its magical journey as a seaside restaurant set in a secluded cove, before emerging into a world-renowned establishment and institution in its own right, with eager patrons lining up for the refined cuisine, summer entertainment and achingly hip ambiance.

Set against a backdrop of turquoise seas and sun-drenched beaches, Nammos represents the epitome of exclusivity, where last year saw the arrival of four private cabanas costing €4,500 per day, with a seven-course meal for six, exclusive use of a hot tub and a private butler thrown in, with Champagne running up to an eye-watering €120,000 per bottle.

Now one of the world’s most famous restaurants, the Greek and Mediterranean-inspired dishes use only the finest and freshest ingredients, with seafood sourced from a boat that works almost exclusively for the club, as well as prime cuts of Wagyu and kobe served in the beef bar, ensuring gourmands and jet-setters flock here in their droves for a dining experience nonpareil.

Pacha, Ibiza

Known for its moniker as the most “emblematic nightclub in Ibiza”, Pascha was the pioneer of Ibiza’s world-renowned dance and cultural movement, offering up a vibrant mix of music, hedonism and glamor.

Hosting some of the world’s most well-known DJs, a night at this iconic location promises an immersive and electric-infused extravaganza. However, it's the VIP treatment that patrons are really after. Located through secret tunnels, this exclusive space boasts the best views in the house, alongside attentive service and extraordinary sound like no other.

Created in Ibiza in 1973, Pacha has since become a brand in itself, although the Balearics venue is still its jewel in the crown. With fine dining and creative cocktails on the menu, tables at Pacha can go for anywhere up to €20,000 for legendary DJ Solomun’s sets on a Sunday night, while premium VIP tables start at €5,000 for general admission.

Opium, Barcelona

Also boasting a respectable ranking in the World’s Best Clubs, Opium regularly attracts the global Glitterati to its venue on Barcelona’s renowned beach-clad Passeig Maritim boulevard throughout summer.

Arguably this Catalan city’s most famous club, the venue is divided up into different areas, with a vault-like dance floor dominating the space, capable of hosting up to 3,000 patrons. For those who prefer to kick back with some fine cuisine, there is a beautiful restaurant offering mouthwatering dishes from a world-class Chef that pays exquisite homage to the Mediterranean.

Outside, you’ll find Barcelona’s largest terrace overlooking the sea. Choose between four VIP areas, encompassing the Johnnie Walker and Mumm, located near the dance floor, with the Grey Goose located behind the go-go girls. Of course, the most premium seats in the house are found in the VIP box.

Expect to pay anywhere up to €1,200 for 5 guests, with €15,000 the going rate for a Premium VIP table for 20 guests, although you do get a 20% discount for paying upfront.

From the glamor of Saint-Tropez to the allure of the Greek Islands, these hidden gems and iconic establishments define the pinnacle of luxury.
