Cutting-edge Mediterranean fare in cool surrounds
For creative Mediterranean cuisine in modern, relaxed and stylish surrounds, nowhere beats Marc Fosh. After all, this popular restaurant situated in the heart of Palma de Mallorca’s old town is the brainchild of the renowned British chef and has a Michelin star to boot.
Housed in the 17th-century Hotel Convent de la Missio, the restaurant began as Simply Fosh before being reinvented in 2017. As well as changing names, the venue now brandishes a new look which replaces stuffy formality with laid-back, contemporary cool.
Expect lots of natural light, a black-and-white colour palette, palm trees growing out the floor and a cascading indoor waterfall. There’s also a stylish bar and a central courtyard for dining alfresco.
As for the food, the menu reflects Marc Fosh’s passion for fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, which are cleverly combined to make innovative dishes with an emphasis on clean flavours.
The lunch menu changes every week while, at night, there is a more refined gastronomic experience where diners can pick from three tasting menus ranging from five to seven courses. Expect creations such as beetroot gazpacho with horseradish ‘ravioli’, sea bass with smoked eel and guinea fowl with local truffles.
For luxury yacht-goers berthed in Marina Moll Vell or taking a tender ashore here, the restaurant can be reached by foot in around 15 minutes. Alternatively, take a taxi – those berthed in marinas on the outskirts of Palma will need to do this too.
