See the Protected Wildlife of the Virgin Islands Up Close

Rugged coastlines, rocky cliffs and the long sandy beaches attract an array of wildlife to inhabit the British Virgin Islands. Many of the animals you will come across on your Virgin Islands charter vacation you will be lucky to see up close, as the islands protect many endangered wildlife rarely seen across the globe.

Step off your superyacht and you will soon discover how the Virgin Islands are rich in natural resources the islands are. This provides the perfect habitat for over hundred species of bird, over 300 kinds of amphibian and more than twenty different mammals. A charter vacation in the Virgin Islands also provides some of the most enchanting seascapes in the world for diving and snorkelling, with around fifty different types of coral species and variety of gorgonians creating a seabed bursting with colour.

The remote island of Anegada with its peaceful white beaches is home to many hawsbill turtles that nest here, travel inland and you'll no doubt see flamingos as an increasing number populate the island.  If the Guana Island is on your charter itinerary you'll be able to spot a famous rock iguanas like above if you look close enough, some grow up to 6ft long who you won't be able to miss.

As you cruise through the crystal blue waters around the Virgin Islands you may see dolphins, and if you're lucky, later in the year you may see whales passing through to migrate.
