Castel Sant Angelo, Rome, Italy

22nd April 2014

The magnificent Castel Sant Angelo (Castle of the Holy Angel)in Rome is shown here beautifully lit up in the twilight, its imposing cylindrical walls and expanding Ponte Sant’Angelo Bridge perfectly reflected in the River Tiber’s waters.

Originally built for the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family, the Castle is one of many significant historical sites that can be enjoyed during a yacht vacation in Italy. Its West Coast is particularly popular for the superyacht set due to the long stretch of coastline that spans down from the Côte d’Azur along the Italian Riviera and down the beautiful coastal cities and towns of Naples, and Salerno.

Rome’s enthralling fusion of bustling café culture, wide selection of world-famous architecture and museums and exceptional bars, restaurants and shops make it a fantastic option for a weekend ashore before moving on to the peaceful off-lying islands. From vineyards and olive groves to monuments and museums, an Italy luxury yacht charter offers a summer vacation to suit everyone. It is one of the most popular cruising areas in the Mediterranean and can include a number of itinerary options such as the beautiful areas of Sardinia, Croatia and the South of France.

It is also home to the upcoming MYBA Charter Show which will this year be displaying an impressive superyachts from the global charter fleet including the 81m ALFA NERO, 73m NAIA and the 73m AXIOMA. For more information about any of the yachts on display, contact your preferred yacht charter broker.
