By Nina Done   31 May 2022

The triumphant winner of the prestigious Palme d’Or award at this year's Cannes Film Festival is the social satire Triangle of Sadness, which features a Marxist yacht captain, played by the brilliant Woody Harrelson, as he helms a cruise for the super-rich on board the 70m (229ft) classic yacht SHERAKHAN

The film is directed by the Swedish director Ruben Östlund – marking his second Palme d’Or having nabbed Cannes’ top honor in 2017 with his previous film The Square – and features pivotal scenes on board the iconic yacht, thrusting it into the limelight for show-goers and cinephiles across the globe where they are afforded a voyeuristic glimpse into the lavish world of superyachts.

Classic yacht SHERAKHAN

Built in the Netherlands in 1966 by Vuyk Scheepswerven, she was extensively refitted in 2017 garnering her a slew of nominations in the Best Refit category. Originally designed as an explorer yacht, she is capable of traversing far-flung corners of the globe, and as one of the few charter yachts able to accommodate 26 guests across 13 beautifully appointed cabins, she is perfect for large charter parties and various group configurations.
