Scorpios Bodrum Temporarily Closes Mid-Season

With the renowned beach club remaining closed until further notice, the announcement is expected to have an impact on those with pre-booked yacht charter vacations; however, Bodrum and the surrounding Turkish Riviera are continuing to offer an exceptional collection of marinas, beach clubs, waterfront dining and secluded cruising grounds.

The update was shared by Scorpios Bodrum on 10 July, with the company stating that the closure was not related to licensing issues, but instead followed circumstances that it said prevented the venue from operating in line with its standards and values.

In its statement, Scorpios explained that it had chosen Bodrum as its second international location because of its long-term commitment to Türkiye and its ambition to become part of the region's hospitality landscape.

According to the company, a disagreement arose after local business partner Maxx Royal sought changes to the terms of their commercial agreement. Scorpios said it declined the proposed amendments and subsequently faced a series of operational restrictions that it believes made it impossible to continue operating.

The company also emphasized that the temporary closure was not the result of licensing issues, regulatory fines or noise complaints.

At the time of writing, no reopening date has been announced.

While Scorpios has quickly established itself as one of Bodrum's most talked-about beach clubs, its temporary closure is unlikely to alter the overall appeal of the region for charter guests.

Bodrum remains one of the premier destinations for East Mediterranean yacht charters, with itineraries continuing as normal throughout the summer season. Scorpios has described the closure as temporary and reiterated its desire to remain part of Bodrum's hospitality scene in the future, although no timeline has been provided for reopening.
