New Caribbean Superyacht Marina Now Under Construction

By Editorial Team   18 June 2014

Earlier this month the Caribbean’s latest superyacht marina development started to take shape on the beautiful island of St. Kitts and looks set to be one of the region’s most luxurious charter destination points.

The first phase of the marina, which is due to be completed by the end of the year, includes the first 24 berths to accommodate superyachts of up to 65m/231’. The 300-acre marina village will be lined with high-end boutiques, bars and restaurants as well as superyacht services and will bring a new modern aspect to the St. Kitts Christophe Harbour.

Director of Development at Christophe Harbour, Charles Darby commented on the exciting new development: “This marina will be the heartbeat of Christophe Harbour and unlike anything that exists in the region today, so it was imperative that we find a firm who could deliver a final product that met not only our internal expectations, but also those of the yachting industry.”

Christophe Harbour itself is set over 2,500-acres of beautiful natural bays, bluffs and beaches on the south-eastern peninsula of St Kitts. As part of the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, its ideal situation in the Eastern Caribbean makes it ideal for luxury yacht charter vacations around the Leeward Islands, hopping between the neighbouring paradise islands of Antigua, St. Barts, St. Maarten and Anguilla.

This breath-taking region has been growing in popularity as a prominent winter charter destination over the past few years and the new development further-equips the island for superyachts. The full-service marina is being constructed by the internationally established American Bridge Company. Operations Manager Hank VanZuthem said: “We’re excited to be a part of this project and what we expect to be a long-term relationship with Christophe Harbour and The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.”

The new facility will be welcoming yachts in early 2015 so take a look at the full selection of superyachts available for charter in the Caribbean and start planning your dream winter escape by contacting your charter broker
