First look: 72.8m Feadship superyacht Project 705

By Katia Damborsky   20 February 2020

Feadship's 72.8m/ 240ft motor yacht 'Project 705' emerged from the outfitting shed in Aalsmeer this morning, unveiling a midnight blue hull.

Onlookers in Aalsmeer were treated to their first look at Project 705 this morning, as the custom-built Feadship superyacht left the construction hall ahead of her official launch in a few weeks' time.

It's been over a year since we last saw Project 705. She was captured underway as she moved through the canals of the Netherlands to begin outfitting in Aalsmeer in February 2019.

She has now emerged from the shed with a crisp white superstructure and a sleek navy blue hull which features a continuous band of glass that sits flush to the exterior. Glass bulwarks and high-gloss eucalyptus wood details were also on show at the unveiling.

The full-displacement yacht features naval architecture from De Voogt and interior and exterior design from Redman Whitely-Dixon. She has beam of 12.8 metres and will be able to reach a maximum speed of 16 knots.

Project manager Gerhard Dekker was on the scene, saying; “It may be a cliché but I truly believe that it takes a team to build a dream, and the way in which everyone has played their part in creating this exceptional vessel is a textbook example of teamwork.”

The yacht has been built for a repeat Feadship client. The Dutch yard has said the Owner was "delighted with both the experience of creating a Feadship as well as the many years of enjoyment that have followed."

The yacht's official name will be revealed during the official launch ceremony in the coming weeks.

The Owner is expected to take delivery in the coming months. 705 joins four other yachts on track to be delivered this year, including the 99.95m/ 327ft superyacht MOONRISE and 75m/ 246ft charter yacht ARROW.

It is not yet known whether Project 705 will become available for superyacht charters.
