First ever edition of The Superyacht Show draws closer

By Rebecca Bradbury   24 April 2018

Brand new event The Superyacht Show will open its doors to potential superyacht buyers and charterers, as well as industry professionals, next week on Wednesday 2 May, marking the start of four days of luxury yacht viewings in the OneOcean Port Vell, Barcelona.

Organised by LYBRA (the Large Yacht Brokers Association), The Superyacht Show aims to be a client-centric showcase, delivering the optimum buyer experience by attracting the highest quality superyachts and yachting companies, prestigious sponsors and global luxury brands.

The quayside experience is designed to be relaxed, elegant and enjoyable for the ultra-high net worth clients and their representatives in attendance, as the inaugural event moves away from the strong business-to-business element associated with more traditional boat shows.

Of the 20 plus yachts signed up to attend, there is a high number of charter yachts. The largest and arguably the most iconic is the 81m/267ft charter yacht ‘Alfa Nero’, an award-winning Oceanco launch famed for her expansive aft deck primed with a large pool, which converts into a helipad.

She will be joined by one of the most exciting additions to the charter fleet in recent years, the 70m/230ft superyacht JOY. A Feadship delivery, her radical exterior styling and expansive deck spaces, which prioritise outdoor living, are considered as ground-breaking.

Another highly sought-after charter offering is the 70m/230ft superyacht ‘Martha Ann’ from Lurssen. Combining a beautifully crafted, opulent interior with a long list of luxurious amenities, she will be among the top must-see yachts at the upcoming show.

Also exhibiting will be two Benetti charter yachts: the 52m/171ft motor yacht LATITUDE, renowned for her art deco interior and well-equipped sundeck, and the 37m/121ft motor yacht EDESIA, which is part of the Italian yard’s Classic 121 series.

All the yachts will be on display in a private marina of the OneOcean Port Vell. The show will run from 10am to 6pm each day, apart from on the final day (Saturday 5 May) when it finishes at 5pm.
