Countdown Begins for the Mediterranean Yacht Show 2017

By Rebecca Bradbury   25 April 2017

The fourth edition of the Mediterranean Yacht Show will open its doors in Nafplion, Greece, at the weekend, showcasing a record number of the region’s finest luxury charter yachts to the industry.

Running from Saturday 29th April to Tuesday 2nd May, this year’s Mediterranean Yacht Show is, as always, timed to coincide with the start of the Mediterranean summer charter season, and YachtCharterFleet will be on the ground, reporting back on all the action.

This gives industry professionals the chance to inspect the fleet of superyachts available for charter in Greece and the wider region, and meet the captains and crews. With this insider knowledge, brokers are better equipped to match their clients to the perfect superyacht.

Organised by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the annual show has been growing in success since its launch in 2014 and, this year, it is set to welcome a record number of 83 superyachts to the beautiful Greek town of Nafplion.

Among the top yachts in attendance are Lurssen’s 59m/192ft motor yacht ‘Capri I’, the 50m/164ft motor yacht MARLA from Amels and the eye-catching 42m/138ft motor yacht GEOSAND from Baglietto.

As well as the display of superyachts lined up in Nafplion harbour, there will also be exhibitors such as marinas and shipyards, luxury lifestyle service providers and water toy companies showcasing their services.

The popular Chefs’ Competition will be back for another year too and the theme for 2017 is ‘raw food dishes using Greek products’. Judged by a panel of five highly acclaimed judges, competition winners will be revealed at a farewell party on the final evening of the event.

An opening ceremony will officially kick proceedings off in the port of Nafplion at 7pm on Saturday and this will be followed by a welcome reception at the Palamidi Fortress.

With the editorial team at YachtCharterFleet heading to the show, be sure to check the site at regular intervals to find out the latest news and happenings direct from the event.
