2015 Mediterranean Yacht Show Chef Competition Winners

By Editorial Team   7 May 2015

At this year's Mediterranean Yacht Show in Greece a number of impressive charter yachts were recognised for the culinary skills of their chef.

Chefs on board yachts attending the second edition of the event in Nafplio were divided into two categories for the competition - the first for vessels with a daily charter rate below €6,999 per day (judged on Sunday) and the second 'Platinum' category for vessels with a rate above €7,000 (judged on Monday). Both were judged by Mr. Ettore Botrini and two yacht brokers.

The theme for participants in this year's chef's competition was "A Greek islands' dish, based on local - original recipe."

Platinum Category
It was Chef Angelos Christodoulou of 45m/148ft Tecnomar superyacht OURANOS who was victorious in the category judging Category A Platinum yachts at the second edition of the show in Nafplio.

In second place was Chef Ioannis Papageorgiou of popular 31m/103ft charter yacht DUKE, with judges torn for third place and acknowledging both motor yacht 'Endless Summer's' (judges seen on board above) Chef George Kalavros and Golden Yachts 40m/130ft build O’PATI's Chef Sotiris Kourtis for their efforts.

Category A
In the Category A section judging smaller vessels, chef from 20m/70ft catamaran NOVA, Chef Stelios Petsas, won first place. He was followed by 30m/98ft sailing yacht 'Aegean Schatz' and 21m70ft Riva motor yacht SPACE.
