2013 Antibes Yacht Show Another Success

By Louise Marsh   25 April 2013

The 7th Antibes Yacht Show once again reported an increased attendance and another successful show.

More than 15,000 visitors from around the world attended the 7th edition of the Antibes yacht show, with buyers from both the USA and China eager to see the yachts on display. For the very first time free WiFi was provided by Global Marine Communications, allowing exhibitors and visitors alike to enjoy the free service.

Another first for the show was the live auction of yachts that took place in the VIP lounge and saw the successful sale of the expedition yacht Lone Ranger.

Refit was a key element to this year's yacht show, with famous refit shipyards, equipment and sevice displays emphasising the importance of refitting superyachts.

The Captain's Lounge was exceedingly popular and the new Chef Lounge, organised by Gourmet Deliveries, was well-received, with chefs enjoying the dedicated area for their art and passion. The Crew lounge, which was organised by Acrew and its partners this year, was also a big success.

The show was a triumph in other areas as well. Kees Verkade exhibited his spectacular works of art in the VIP Lounge and The Water of Hope Association collected €1,975 at the show which will go towards 7 wells for the children of Cambodia.

The Captain's Lounge, Chef Lounge and Crew Lounge were extremely popular, and a massive success.
