MetLife Stadium, New York/New Jersey, USA

2 Feb 2014

By Editorial Team

The 2014 Super Bowl will be a historical event, with a few noticeable differences to previous years.

The Super Bowl XLVIII will be the first outside, cold-weather Super Bowl, the first to take place in the area and the first to be jointly hosted by two teams and by two states. Key events for both the ceremonial start and finish of the Super Bowl Week will take place in New Jersey where a whole host of activities are scheduled to take place throughout the week.

The first official public event of the week will be Media Day, featuring players from both teams, and will be held at the Presidential Center in Newark on 28th January 2014. The NFL's Tailgate Party will be held at the Grandstand at the Meadowlands Racetrack on 'Super Bowl Sunday' in the final hours leading up to the game itself, and the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Commitee's pre-game party will be held in New Jersey too, as will as the postgame parties for both teams. These venues are yet to be announced.

New Jersey will play host to both teams, as they will both be staying at hotels within the state during their extended visit. The competing teams will also be practicing in the state at both the Timex Center and the Atlantic Health Facility in Florham Park.

Hosting... Super Bowl Week is a major win for the state, its tourism and economic developments.
