Porto Cervo, Sardinia
Bringing together some of the world’s largest and fastest sailing yachts, the Perini Navi Cup is one of the most eagerly anticipated regattas on the Mediterranean's yachting calendar.
Held biennially since 2004, the regatta is reserved exclusively for superyachts built by Perini Navi, the celebrated Italian shipyard renowned for its innovative designs, state-of-the-art racing technologies and fine pedigree sailing yachts.
Every year a fine fleet of Perini Navi vessels compete in challenging courses around the La Maddalena archipelago, which is situated off the northern coast of Porto Cervo in Sardinia. Circuits can reach up to 40 nautical miles, and the islands of the archipelago are used as marker buoys.
Hosted by the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), the four-day event welcomes Perini Navi owners and crews to enjoy a full social programme alongside the racing and, over the years, it has become renowned for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
After the 2015 edition, the cup took a break from its biennial tradition due to the 2017 America's Cup, but the racing returned in 2018 and the next fixture will take place September of this year.
Due to the event's evergrowing popularity, the regatta sees a shining fleet of superyachts arrive to spectate and be a part of the electrifying energy.
