Following the the final Nantucket Bucket in 2001, the venue was moved to Newport in 2002 where the regatta has been held ever since, hosted by the Newport Shipyard.
This famous annual sailing yacht regatta is a friendly competition that begins in the idyllic waters of Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound. The Bucket trophy is presented to the overall winner, with daily awards handed out for the first in each class. There are also awards for first, second, and third place per class.
The “Spirit of the Bucket” is unique and, with a 26 year history, are renowned for their focus on friendly competition and fun.
