Les Voiles de Saint Barth 2020

Postponed (Dates to be announced)

By Katia Damborsky

Officially called Les Voiles de Saint Barth Richard Mille, the 11th edition of the regatta will bring another excellent fleet of sailing yachts to the heart of the Caribbean.

Running between 12 - 18 April 2020, Les Voiles de Saint Barth 2020 will transform the island of St Barths into a hive of activity.

Attracting seasoned sailors and spectators eager to soak up the action, the event comprises five days of sailing, alongside a sparkling shoreside social agenda.

The races

Around 70 yachts are expected to participate in the 2020 edition of the Les Voiles de Saint Barth, and yachts are divided into six classes based on performance.

The circuits take place around Gustavia, and are announced on the day based on weather conditions. Participants can expect challenging courses, which aim to test precision and accuracy on the water.

As well as overall results, the Richard Mile Maxi Cup will also be making a comeback after it was introduced for the first time last year. It is awarded to the crew who manage to notch up the fastest time on a certain course, and is fast becoming a highly coveted accolade.

The social schedue

As ever, the on-the-water action is complemented by a vibrant social programme. Participants can expect to be dazzled by glittering parties with live music, DJ sets and firework displays.

This ensures those attending the event are able to network within the Caribbean sailing sailing community, as well highlighting the overarching spirit of camaraderie.
