Dates to be announced
Offering three spectacular days of racing off the coast of Newport, Rhode Island, the Candy Store Cup will return for the third consecutive year in July 2018.
Hosted and organised by Newport Shipyard and Bannister’s Wharf, the Candy Store Cup carries forward the tradition of the Newport Bucket Regatta and, above all else, continues to prioritise sportsmanship and camaraderie.
A stunning fleet of sailing yachts will compete in pursuit-style racing on Rhode Island Sound, with one race planned for each of the three days of the event. Spectators will be able to catch the action from a number of vantage points along the shore of Narragansett Bay’s East Passage.
The newly expanded Newport Shipyard will be the event’s headquarters and home to most of the fleet while not racing. The working shipyard has become the epicentre of the superyacht industry in New England and is uniquely positioned to allow the public to view the yachts berthed there.
There will also be time in the cup’s schedule for a colourful array of social events. Expect a welcome party, post-race soirees, yacht hops, and a final awards ceremony and after party.
