Antigua to Bermuda Race 2017

Fort Charlotte, Antigua

12 - 19 May 2017

By Rebecca Bradbury

A huge variety of sailing yachts will take on the challenge of the inaugural Antigua to Bermuda Race when it gets underway on Friday 12th May 2017.

Despite being in its debut year, the Antigua to Bermuda Race is proving to be extremely popular, with more than 40 yachts expressing interest. The varied fleet ranges from modern and classic superyachts to high performance multihulls.

The debut race coincides with the 50th edition of the Antigua Sailing Week and the 35th America’s Cup, taking place in Bermuda, and is designed to offer an exciting passage to the island-chain in time for the iconic sporting event.

Starting off Fort Charlotte in Antigua, the 900-mile race course runs along the island’s spectacular south coast before blasting into the Atlantic Ocean. Ocean currents and local weather will keep tacticians on their toes, and Bermuda will deliver a fantastic welcome for all competitors.

To be part of the thrilling action, undertake a regatta charter. For more information on arranging this, please speak to your preferred charter broker.
