Grand Harbour, Valletta
18th - 25th Oct 2014
2014 will see the 35th edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race take place in Valletta, Malta.
A highly esteemed off-shore classic regatta, the Rolex Middle Sea Race was co-founded by The Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Royal Ocean Racing Club in 1968 and has run every year, apart from 1984-1995. In recent years the race has attracted over 80 yachts due to a new Organising Committee who brought Rolex on board as the title sponsor.
The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a tough challenge in demanding conditions, but the course takes participants close to a number of islands, providing beautiful scenery. The race will begin on 18th October from the Grand Harbour in the waters opposite the Saluting Battery in Valletta and in Fort St. Angelo in Birgu where thousands of people will gather on either side of the harbour to witness the beginning of the race.

LOCAL DESTINATION INFORMATION
Lying south of Sicily and to the north of Africa, the Maltese archipelago sits like a jewel in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. Of this stunning cluster just three islands are inhabited which are Malta, Gozo and Comino. Malta is the largest island of the trio and boasts the cultural heart of the archipelago, whilst Gozo and Comino are untouched and secluded.
