The Gateway between the East and West
Skylines filled with daring architectural innovations, desert plains carved with vast luxurious offerings and palm tree shaped man-made islands sprawling from the coastline, Dubai is not so much a place to visit as a place to experience.

Already known as the superyacht centre of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is fast becoming one of the most popular luxury yacht charter destinations. It is a place that truly embraces the ‘wow’ factor and it is here that you will find the world’s tallest building, the largest man-made islands, the richest horse race, the biggest shopping festival and the most luxurious hotel.
Delve a little deeper however and you will find a different, more authentic side to Dubai away from its Westernised ways. Whether wandering around the gold and spice souk’s, watching dhow abras weave along the waterways or enjoying the colourful festivities of Ramadam in the Heritage Village, its rich cultural traditions adds a fascinating dimension to a private luxury yacht charter vacation.
Dubai is one of seven emirates – the others being Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al Quwain – that form the United Arab Emirates. A charter itinerary in the Arabian Gulf is ideal for incorporating these different areas and/or stopping off on the way to the beautiful islands of the Seychelles or the Maldives. World-famous events such as the Dubai World Cup and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as well as the increasingly popular International Dubai Boat Show are also held in the region and are perfect for event and corporate charters.
Home to some of the best restaurants in the world, a vast range of cuisine is on offer from traditional Middle Eastern Mezze to Michelin Star European delicacies. Nightlife varies and is usually confined to the luxury hotels, however they do not disappoint and are a favourite of the world’s elite looking to party under the stars on balmy Middle Eastern evenings.
Temperatures in the emirate drop considerably from a peak of about 45C in July and the humidity starts to dissipate, so is perfect for a private yacht winter getaway when the days are warm enough to take a dip in the Arabian Sea but considerably cooler in the evening. Winter is also when emiratis participate in traditional events, including weekend evening gatherings at the heritage villages to recite poetry or dance the Liwa and Ayyalah – popular Khaleeji folk dances from the Arabian peninsula.
