Propriano is a commune in the Corse-du-Sud department of France which lies about halfway between the major towns of Ajaccio to the north and Bonifacio to the south of Corsica. Known to have the most glamorous marina in Corsica, throughout the summer months its glittering port becomes a hive of activity, with luxury yachts cruising in to enjoy the offering of upscale restaurants, bars, beaches and overall buzzing jetset atmosphere.

It has become a long-time favourite for superyacht travellers looking to indulge in the luxury of summer in the West Med but in a more laid-back environment compared to hedonistic hotspots of the French Riviera. There is opportunity to travel to the more traditional and low-key villages of
deep Corsica while enjoying the luxury of a town tailored to the needs of the world’s most demanding clientele.

Two of Corsica’s best beaches are within a 20 minute sail of Proprianno and the pretty town of Sateen - described by French novelist Prosper Merimee as "the most Corsican of Corsica's towns” is just a short drive away. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of life for a few hours then head to Olmeto which is situated on an incline of hills overlooking Propriano. This quiet, charming village offers a sense of old Corsica and is a great place to reflect and enjoy fantastic views.

Luxury charter vacations in these waters will often include stop-offs in Corsican port towns such as Bonifacio and Ajaccio, and are in close enough proximity to Sardinia to make visits to the La Maddalena's National Park and Porto Cervo. Water sports are very popular throughout these islands so make good use of the toys on your charter yacht, but the overall atmosphere and diversity of scenery ensures an unforgettable vacation.

In order to discover all of the unique charms of this Corsican destination, be sure to speak with your preferred charter broker who will be able to best advice you about the best luxury crewed yachts for charter in Corsica.
