Luxury Phinisi Dunia Baru Lights Up on Exotic Adventures

Meaning ‘new world’ in Indonesian, the 51m/167ft luxury phinisi ‘Dunia Baru certainly lives up to her name. Not only does she cruise in rarely explored archipelagos, she presents a remarkably unique charter experience.

One of the many innovative offerings on board superyacht Dunia Baru is an expansive shaded lounging area on her sweeping bow which, at sundown, transforms into a cocktail lounge like no other.

Everything on board has been hand-crafted from locally-sourced wood by Indonesia’s native Konjo Boat Builders. Yet, although inspired by traditional phinisi design, she features all the high-tech equipment expected from a modern day superyacht.

Built into the wooden panels of the alfresco lounge are a series of LED lights which shine a kaleidoscope of colours as the sun begins to set. A series of cushions can also be added to create a raised lounging station where drinks can be sipped in the atmospheric setting from dark till dawn.

Other highlights of the sailing yacht include a foredeck star-gazing area, an alfresco dining area come social hub on the aft deck and a fully operational dive centre. Charter guests are also treated to massages and, at night on a luxury yacht charter, can retreat into one of seven luxurious staterooms.
