Superyacht ‘Project Tala’ ready for outfitting

Industry news

By Steven Mandaluff  2 November 2020

The 53m (171.6’) superyacht ‘Project Tala’ has made the journey to Turquoise Yacht’s Istanbul facility as she prepares for her final outfitting phase.

The luxury motor yacht made the short journey from the builder’s Kocaeli shipyard, where her hull and superstructure were built, along the Sea of Marmaris to their facilities in Istanbul. She will now undergo outfitting and finishing ahead of her anticipated delivery in Spring 2022.

Her sleek appearance is courtesy of DeBasto Designs, who were responsible for her exteriors. A raked bow and matching angles for the aft decks, combined with a fluid linear feel all the way from her swim platform to the pilothouse windshield cleverly disguise a hugely voluminous interior.

With a length of 53m (171.6') Project Tala packs an incredible 720GT volume into her three-deck frame, offering the kind of interior and exterior space you would associate with a yacht much larger.

Project Tala provides accommodation for 12 guests in nine en-suite cabins. On board highlights including a large and elegantly designed swim platform, and a sundeck with voluminous sun pads, a hot tub, barbecue grill and bar with widescreen TV and a day head. A gym and sauna adorn the beach deck.

An eye has definitely been kept on the socialising and entertainment side a yacht charter vacation can bring, with the roomy deck areas offering spaces for both entertainment of large groups and also more intimate gatherings of two to four people.

The interiors are designed by H2 Yacht Design, and are understatedly lavish. Traditional design is merged with opulent touches such as marble flooring, burl veneers and gold highlights to create a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Large windows ensure a bright and airy environment, contrasting with semi-precious woods and materials detailing the interiors.

The Owner’s stateroom and VIP suite are forward on main deck, and for a degree of privacy, traffic circulation between guests and crew are completely separated on all decks. The lower deck is also home to accommodation for ten crew members.

Construction of Project Tala began in 2018, and she is one of four yachts being delivered by Turquoise Yachts over the next two years. The 75m superyacht Vallicelli and 74m superyacht Barracuda are all scheduled to be delivered next year.

It is not yet known whether Project Tala will be available for luxury yacht charters.
