Preview of the Thailand Yacht Show 2018

By Rebecca Bradbury   19 February 2018

The third edition of the Thailand Yacht Show (TYS) will return to the Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket, Thailand, between 22nd and 25th February, attracting more than 100 exhibitors and around 5,000 visitors.

Combining the best aspects of yacht charter, the boating industry and luxury lifestyle events, the TYS is South East Asia's premier yachting show. Expected to be even better in 2018, it's introducing a number of changes which aim to elevate the visitor experience.

There will be new opportunities for show attendees to get out on the water and try out a whole range of watercraft, from sailboats, sport fishers and dinghies to tenders, day-cruisers and superyachts.

There will also be the chance to test out the latest yachting toys and accessories at the Demo Platform as well as participate in a range of other activities, such as wine-tasting, Thai cooking classes, mixology sessions and full moon yoga.

Plus, those keen to discover first-hand the benefits of yacht charter are invited to join some of the superyacht fleet on display for short ‘sea-trials’ outside of show hours. This opportunity is unprecedented in a marine consumer show in Asia.

Anticipated to be the must-see charter yacht of the show is the 60m/197ft motor yacht PARAFFIN from Feadship. Among her highlights are an ornate interior, a home cinema, a huge wine cellar and a gym with 360-degree views.

Also sure to turn heads with her one-of-a-kind profile and striking grey paintjob is the 41m/135ft motor yacht ‘Ocean Emerald’. Built by Rodriquez yachts, she features a minimalistic interior and oversized sundeck for the very best in outdoor living.

Other elements of the show visitors can look forward to are an official opening ceremony, yacht parties, a wellness spa pop-up, a chef demo, a supercar promenade and a street food and night market.

The Thailand Yacht Show is organised in partnership with the Thai government and aims to help drive the project to make Thailand the principal destination for yachting in Asia and the winter destination of choice for superyacht owners and charterers.
