Monaco Yacht Show Organisers Takeover 3 USA Boat Shows

By Oliver Pearson   2 March 2017

Informa Global Exhibitions, the event organisers behind the Monaco Yacht Show, have today announced the purchase of Yachting Promotions Inc, the organisers behind three of the largest yacht shows in America.

Acquiring a series of exciting shows, Informa Global Exhibitions will be expanding their portfolio to organise the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Yachts Miami Beach, and Palm Beach International.

With access to a commanding range of global resources, and with years of industry experience, it is expected that the British events company will enable their collection of shows to grow even more in the coming years.

The deal, worth $133m, will also see the operator takeover the St Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show as well as the Sarasota Suncoast Boat Show.

Perhaps the most exciting acquisition is the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The largest in-water show in the world, the event regularly brings more than a 100,000 discerning visitors to Florida.

Similarly, the recent development and growing success of the Yachts Miami Beach positions the show as one of the most important dates in the superyacht calendar. Shining a spotlight on the fine cruising grounds of Miami, the event attracts some of the world’s most impressive motor yachts.

Ultimately, the takeover is set to ensure a bright and exciting future for pivotal superyacht shows in both the Mediterranean and the U.S.

Acquisitions in key and growing verticals will continue to be part of our growth strategy going forward as we look for events that complement what we are doing within vertical markets we have identified as attractive
