The 49.82 (163’5) luxury motor yacht Mary Jean recently announced that she is now a recognised RYA training centre with an on board Personal Water Craft (PWC) instructor. This means that charter clients who do not have a Jetski permit can be trained during their charter vacation by the qualified member of crew and obtain their license.
Increasingly, maritime authorities throughout the world, and in particular on Mediterranean luxury yacht charters, have become more stringent with PWC use. A number of instances have been reported of charter yachts being stopped for random checks and heavily fined when unable to produce a valid license for charter guests using Jetskis or Waverunners.
The RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency course is aimed at both novice and experienced drivers and is required for those looking to drive a PWC, with many insurance companies insisting upon it before departure. The course can be completed in one day and ensures charter guests get the most out of their waverunner or jet-ski by learning how to drive safely and responsibility.
This RYA training centre approval is sure to become a more common aspect of luxury charter yachts as the safety regulations continue to be enforced. By becoming a recognised training centre, luxury yacht Mary Jean ensures that not only are guests offered the ultimate in service with a fully qualified instructor on board but can also take full advantage of her selection of watertoys. She is currently available for charter in the Mediterranean, contact your preferred yacht charter broker for more information.
