Lurssen Delivers Superyacht 'Al Lusail'

By Oliver Pearson   22 August 2017

A hugely significant moment in this year’s superyacht calendar, the 123m/404ft motor yacht 'Al Lusail' was delivered to her new owner in Norway this week.

Shrouded in mystery during her build phase, the spectacular Al Lusail is currently turning heads and starting conversations as she sits moored outside Kristiansand.

A hugely distinct motor yacht, the gracefully curved lines and cutaway sections which define her exterior are nothing short of futuristic.

Whilst the March & White designed interior areas have not enjoyed the same photographic coverage, they are understood to be bright and inviting.

Embodying all of the characteristics which have made the German shipyard so iconic, Al Lusail also boasts an incredible seafaring performance.

The 22nd largest superyacht in the world, Al Lusail caused a sensation last month as she was reported to reach an impressive top speed of 18.4 knots during her sea trials.

This occasion also saw her revealing her nameplate, leaving behind her provisional name of project JUPITER- her official title is a playful allusion to the latest city to be built in Qatar.

A superyacht unlike any other, ‘Al Lusail’ is certain to become an instant icon

The known standout features of superyacht Al Lusail include a helipad on the bow, a side boarding tender garage, and an enormous swim platform reached from broad staircases on the port and starboard sides.

As further information becomes available regarding M/Y Al Lusail, YachtCharterFleet will be sure to keep readers informed.

Whilst M/Y Al Lusail is not expected to be made available for charter, be sure to take at the Lurssen superyachts which are open for charter.
