Great news for yacht charter guests keen to explore the compelling beauty of French Polynesia this year. The French Polynesian president Eduoard Fitch has recently announced that the islands of Tahiti will be welcoming superyacht charters from 1st May. This follows the recent certification of the islands as a World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels Destination.
These mesmerizing islands in the South Pacific have been temporarily closed to international tourists since February in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The exact entry requirements for visiting Tahiti have not yet been revealed but will follow shortly. However, the president has stated that:
"We are going to put in place a protocol at the entry of our borders using virological testing, serological testing, vaccine and ETIS (Electronic Travel Information System). We will explain this protocol in detail with the High Commissioner in the coming days."
A Tahiti yacht charter promises a slice of heaven on earth. French Polynesia is a mesmerizingly beautiful collection of 118 islands (Tahiti being the largest) lapped by tranquil turquoise waters. Superyacht charter guests' choice of show-stoppingly serene anchorages are aplenty when cruising here. Think secluded, pearl-white beaches, incredible corals and luscious lagoons.
