Indonesia Prepares Policy Changes to Attract More Superyachts

By Rebecca Bradbury   21 January 2016

Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) is working with the government in Indonesia to attract more private yachts to the country.

The leading superyacht agency in the Asia and Pacific region, APS is advising the government on policy changes that would help make Indonesia more accessible.

In an advisory role, APS will assist in the decision-making process on policies such as CAIT - Clearance Approval for Indonesia Territory.

These positive changes will make it easier for those wanting to charter superyachts in Indonesia’s stunning cruising grounds.

Richard Lofthouse, director of Asia Pacific Superyachts Indonesia, says: “We sincerely support the government initiative to bring more yachts into the country with better policies. But these policies have to be realistic. Indonesia is unlike any other country on earth geographically and thus it is not a simple process.”

Indeed, the sheer size, scenery and diversity of Indonesia makes for a truly unique charter vacation. With 17,000 islands spanning across 5,000km, it is the largest archipelago in the world and offers the chance to explore uninhabited islands, remote villages and Buddhist temples, and world-renowned dive sites.

The country is also home to the Raja Ampat Islands – often dubbed as ‘the last paradise on earth’.

These positive changes will make it easier for those wanting to charter superyachts in Indonesia’s stunning cruising grounds.
