FLIBS 2017 Continues In Fine Form

By Rebecca Bradbury   3 November 2017

The third day of the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) got underway in Florida this morning and is once again wowing show-goers with its spectacular yacht displays, special events and seminar sessions.

YachtCharterFleet is on the ground for day three of FLIBS 2017, continuing to check out the very best superyachts in attendance and keeping up to date with the latest happenings in the industry.

The boardwalks across the seven show locations are abuzz with attendees visiting from all over the world to see what’s new in the world of boating and to do business.

Some of most talked-about yachts at this year’s event are available for charter. These include the 78m/257ft motor yacht TV and the brand new 50m/164ft motor yacht VERTIGE.

The ultimate yacht in show, however, is the award-winning 73m/238ft charter yacht CLOUDBREAK from Abeking & Rasmussen. Never failing to turn heads, she impresses with her attractive exterior styling, exquisite interior from Christian Liaigre and long list of luxurious facilities.

As well as the superyachts in attendance, some of the biggest boat builders are also at the exhibit. These include Feadship and Lurssen, along with a number of others making special announcements and contributing to the lively events programme.

Yesterday, a panel discussion between Damen, Triton Submarine and EYOS Expeditions took place on the 55m/181ft support vessel 'New Frontiers' to discuss the changing superyachting experience. This focused on the rise of the expedition yacht and the growing preference for adventuring to far-flung destinations.

As well as celebrating its recent win at the ISS Design Awards, Christensen – the team behind the 49m/160ft charter yacht CHASSEUR – revealed a number of upcoming projects in the 40m to 45m range. ISA Yachts then rounded up the evening with a cocktail reception for the industry.

Seminar sessions, fishing clinics and live water toy demonstrations are also keeping attendees entertained, as is the Windward VIP Club Experience and floating cocktail lounges.
