First Look Inside 70m Feadship Charter Yacht JOY

By Oliver Pearson   19 August 2016

As one of the most highly celebrated deliveries of the year, it was with only the greatest excitement that we perused fresh interior photography of the 70m/230ft motor yacht JOY.

Delivered to her owner in July, superyacht JOY unsurprisingly generated a wealth of excitement.

The first motor yacht to have its exterior designed by the iconic Bannenberg & Rowell since the passing of their inestimable founder Jon Bannenberg in 2002, JOY bears much sharper lines than might be expected of a Feadship superyacht. Though no less harmonious than those the Dutch shipyard have become renowned for, the resulting profile is noticeably distinguished.

Another feature of the exterior design is the abundance of glass eyelights which have been integrated into the lowered bulwarks to provide the interior with a sheer amount of natural light to complement the lively styling found in the communal and guest spaces.

With a selection of fresh interior images published earlier this week, it’s not difficult to see why JOY is the perfect choice for a private yacht charter.

The product of a true dream team, superyacht JOY showcases the outstanding capabilities of both Feadship and Bannenberg and Rowell

Stepping inside, the use of light patterned woods in the main salon and formal dining area will assuredly have charterers feeling immediately at home.

Indeed, the seamless flow between the furnishings found on the exterior and the design of the interior helps establish a wholly fluent experience.

Flanked by floor to ceiling windows, the main deck nicely draws in the sun whilst the discreetly recessed lighting overhead helps to sustain the refreshing ambience throughout the evening.

Such an arrangement will naturally have been appreciated during her time in the Mediterranean this summer, with the expansive windows providing exceptional access to the passing landscapes.

Lining the corridor leading to the staterooms, a series of floral flourishes continue a subtle theme introduced back in the main salon.

The cabins themselves each possess their own particular personality, with each being finished in a unique light hue.

Similar to the communal spaces, oversized windows provide charterers with plenty of natural light throughout the day should they desire it.

As a yacht defined by its consistency, it was no surprise to discover that the en suites are each completed in the same colour as their respective cabin.

Providing the perfect retreat for charterers to return to following a day on the water, these cabins are sure to satisfy the entire party.

Elsewhere inside, a dedicated gymnasium looks out across the water, making a workout that bit more satisfying whilst away on charter.

What’s more, with an opulent elevator encased by a spiral staircase, access to the various interior spaces could not be more convenient.
