Charter yacht ALTA announces limited Christmas availability in the British Virgin Islands

By Anna Ingles   4 September 2026

Palmer Johnson superyacht ALTA is heading to the Caribbean for the winter charter season, with limited availability remaining for Christmas yacht charters in the British Virgin Islands.

Continuing on from a successful season in the Med, ALTA is offering an enticing opportunity to experience a private yacht charter among some of the most captivating islands in the Caribbean over the festive period.

Limited Christmas yacht charter availability

For BVI yacht charters, Christmas bookings must end by December 27 or 28, while charters cruising from St. Maarten (Saint Martin) must conclude by December 26 or 27.

The limited dates make charter yacht ALTA particularly relevant for guests looking to spend Christmas aboard a private yacht while exploring the sheltered bays, beaches, and islands of the BVI. Her shallow draft also allows access to areas closer to shore, complementing a cruising itinerary focused on smaller coves and reef-fringed anchorages.

Spacious outdoor areas for Caribbean cruising

Built by Palmer Johnson, ALTA combines substantial exterior deck space with a collection of amenities designed around time spent outdoors. Her decks provide areas for dining, lounging, and sunbathing, while a deck Jacuzzi offers another place to relax between swims and shore excursions.

A swim platform provides direct access to the water, with at-anchor stabilizers helping to make time spent aboard more comfortable when the yacht is settled in a bay.

Watersports are a major part of ALTA's charter offering, with an extensive collection suited to both active days on the water and family cruising.

Caribbean yacht charter guests can make the most of two three-seat Yamaha EX Edition WaveRunners, two Seabobs, inflatable kayaks and paddleboards, as well as waterskis, wakeboards, a surfboard, snorkeling equipment and a selection of towable toys.

One of her more distinctive additions is an Aquabanas waterslide, while an inflatable Jet-Ski dock makes it easy for guests to transition between the yacht and the water.

ALTA also carries 10 GoCycle G3 electric bikes, giving guests another way to explore ashore when an itinerary calls for time away from the yacht. For larger excursions and water access, her 11.28m (37') Intrepid tender provides a substantial platform for exploring the surrounding coastline.

Contemporary interiors with a focus on relaxation

Inside, motor yacht charter ALTA offers a sophisticated interior designed by Patricia Andrews, with a balance of formal and informal spaces for guests to spend time together or retreat in privacy.

The main salon provides a comfortable setting for socializing away from the sun, while the yacht's interior areas are complemented by large windows that maintain the connection with the surrounding Caribbean scenery.

Elsewhere onboard, ALTA also has a dedicated gym, giving guests an alternative to the outdoor activities and watersports available on deck. Throughout the interior, air conditioning provides a comfortable environment when temperatures rise, while Wi-Fi connectivity allows guests to stay connected when desired.

For a Christmas charter, these indoor spaces are particularly useful alongside ALTA's extensive exterior areas, giving guests plenty of choice between relaxed evenings inside, social time with family and friends, and days spent enjoying the water.

Overnight accommodation for up to 12 guests in five cabins, with a layout comprising a master suite, four double cabins, and a pair of twin cabins, including two convertible beds. Up to nine crew members are carried to provide full-service support throughout a yacht charter.

Ready for a sun-kissed Christmas?

A yacht such as ALTA also allows guests to tailor the pace of a festive getaway, whether that means spending Christmas Day at anchor, heading ashore for a relaxed lunch, or making full use of the yacht's watersports collection.

With only limited Christmas dates remaining, the December 27/28 BVI end-date requirement is an important consideration when planning a festive charter itinerary.
